Welcome to Ditidaht Places!
This project has been created for the purpose of education and reflects the learning of students at Ditidaht Community School. It builds on the efforts of Ditidaht Elders and Knowledge Holders who have shared and recorded their knowledge over many generations. We hope that like the land itself, this site will continue to grow in wealth and complexity. We welcome you to join us here as we explore the rich lands and living history of our nation.
As visitors to this site, we ask that you show the respect that you would as a guest anywhere else. This site is offered to inform and interest you, but is not meant to be a comprehensive document about Ditidaht lands or knowledge. Please do not hold it to the standard of being a complete authority on matters of Ditidaht rights, title, territory, language, culture, or tradition, but rather as a starting point and a work in progress leading to understanding. This map is a living document – one designed to grow and change over time as students and community members add their insights and findings.
We hope you will enjoy exploring and learning with us!
